We are having a fantastic summer term in Aqua class and are using the great weather to our advantage with weekly trips out on the bus. Here we are supporting our self regulation and independence skills when out in the local environment. These trips have been key to developing and generalising some of the independence skills we have learnt throughout the year in class and we can now apply them when out and about– our favourite trips so far have been to Otterspool Promenade and Hale Park. We look forward to visiting some local beaches as part of our Pirate topic for our final half term.

We continue to have swimming sessions each week and this term have been lucky enough to have coaches from Everton as part of our PE session, here we are listening to short instructions, staying active and working as part of a team.

Our topic for the first half term has been Dinosaurs, which has really captured our imaginations; we’ve made dinosaur fossils, played in Dino slime and concentrated on different shapes and textures as part of our dinosaur sensory story. We have been working on stage 4 as part of this terms Attention Autism and wowed all adults in the room as we are able to create our own pictures independently and show then to the rest of the class. It has been fantastic to see the sense of pride each child has when sharing their work with their friends.

It has been a pleasure being in Aqua class this year and the resilience of the children after so many changes and such a challenging year has amazed us ! We are so proud and look forward to having the best half term yet!
